In autumn 2019 a bodybuilding legend from Germany left us: Jusup Wilkosz, who could reach the third place in the 1984 Mr. Olympia election.
Goodbye to a great bodybuilder
A man who looked like a Greek statue: not only because of his muscular shape, but also because of his beard. This was one of the characteristics that made Jusup Wilkosz unmistakable – almost none of the professional bodybuilders appeared with a beard at the time. And if they did, it was with a mustache from the seventies.
Unfortunately, this man is no longer among the living: Since November 2019 the bodybuilding world has had to continue without this legend.
Close to the Mr. Olympia
Jusup was in top form in the eighties: In the vote for the 1984 Mr. Olympia he finished third. Without question a top performance of the extra class – after all, the professional scene was firmly in the hands of the USA. Because even Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had set new standards with his victory series at the Mr. Olympia, was no longer perceived as an Austrian: He was now an American.
Anyway, Jusup has shown many of the professionals what a top form is. And that was also reflected in the judges’ scores and finally led to a place on the podium.
Training with Arnold
There are many photos from the late seventies and early eighties showing Jusup training with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu. Big calibers among themselves: Apparently they got along splendidly. Arnold had to say goodbye to both friends last year – Franco died in mid-2019.

Jusup’s unmistakable appearance was not least due to his posing: it is remarkable how he can be recognized by the drawn outlines alone. And that’s exactly what we did: In myTRS there is now also a body diagram with Jusups figure.
